About the Role: Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor seeking a new challenge? We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior or Associate Quantity Surveyor to join a prestigious consultancy based in Cambridge. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in the cost management team, contributing to project delivery and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities: You will manage cost management services for various projects from conception to completion. You will participate in design and progress meetings, review documentation, and evaluate specifications. Additionally, you will oversee tendering and procurement activities, including valuations and contract administration. Cultivating positive relationships with clients and contractors while addressing risks and conflicts will be essential. You will also lead and mentor a team of cost managers, providing guidance and support, and support bid preparation and update project databases. Ensuring compliance with quality assurance requirements and performing arithmetical checks are also part of the role.
Qualifications: To excel in this role, you should have previous experience in a cost consultancy role. Demonstrated leadership skills, including team management and mentorship, are necessary. You should have a strong understanding of market conditions and benchmarking metrics. Proficiency in digital measurement tools and contract negotiation is essential. A positive attitude, meticulous attention to detail, and a methodical approach are key attributes. A degree in cost management or a related field, ideally accredited by RICS, is required, along with an MRICS qualification. Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is necessary, and the ability to manage project finances and mitigate risks effectively is crucial. Holding a valid UK driving license is also required.
