Are you looking for a role where you can work across multiple sectors? This company is currently experiencing growth and success, prompting the need for a proactive and engaging Quantity Surveyor to join the cost management team. The role involves working on a variety of projects in sectors such as higher education, healthcare, residential, logistics, infrastructure, and defense.

Responsibilities:

  • Quantity Surveying and Cost Consultancy:
  • Manage and lead on pre and post-contract duties.
  • Client-facing responsibilities and collaboration with multi-disciplined teams.
  • Production of cost estimates and plans.

Tender Process:

  • Preparation of tendering documents.
  • Management of the tender process, including analysis and recommendations to the client.
  • Advice on procurement routes.

Project Management:

  • Attend meetings, prepare financial reports, and monitor project status.
  • Ensure projects remain on budget from design to completion.
  • Full post-contract duties, including variations and final account settlements.

Client Relationships:

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients.
  • Support and manage junior team members efficiently.

Business Development:

  • Contribute to winning new work and repeat business.
  • Manage large-scale or multiple projects with key clients.

Cost Evaluation and Advice:

  • Evaluate costs and advise on alternative proposals.
  • Provide advice on contract arrangements and conditions.

Qualifications:

  • Degree qualification (RICS accredited or equivalent).
  • MRICS.
  • Experience in technically complex projects in a consultancy environment.
  • Familiarity with NEC 3/4 and JCT contract administration.

Personal Attributes:

  • Articulate and capable of maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Commercially aware with excellent negotiation and organizational skills.
  • Proactive and engaging personality.
