Position Overview:
Our client is currently seeking a talented Chartered (or Senior) Quantity Surveyor to join our client's Cost Management team based in their Winchester office. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about advancing their careers and contributing to team growth and development.
Responsibilities:
Conduct cost estimation and management for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with budgetary constraints. Manage procurement processes and contracts, negotiating terms and conditions to optimize project outcomes. Provide expert advice on contractual and financial matters, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards. Perform risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate potential risks, ensuring project success. Oversee project cost control and budgeting activities, monitoring expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering their professional development and growth. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project delivery and client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Chartered status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in quantity surveying or cost management roles. Strong proficiency in cost estimation, procurement, and contract management processes. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. Proven ability to mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. Proficiency in industry-standard software such as CostX, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel.
