About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead and enhance the operational effectiveness of a thriving scaffolding company. With a strong focus on business growth and delivering top-quality service to commercial and industrial clients, this role is perfect for a well-connected industry professional ready to drive expansion, optimize processes, and align operations with strategic goals. You will work closely with supportive business owners to achieve company growth objectives and maintain high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management

Oversee daily operations, ensuring projects meet client expectations, safety regulations, and quality standards. Manage schedules, resources, and budgets to maximize efficiency and profitability. Implement policies and best practices to enhance operational performance.

Client Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high satisfaction and service excellence. Serve as the primary contact for major clients, handling communication and problem-solving. Identify and leverage opportunities to expand services with current clients to boost loyalty and revenue.

Business Development and Networking

Leverage industry connections to secure new business and grow the client base. Actively pursue new market opportunities within commercial and industrial scaffolding sectors. Represent the company at events and meetings to increase visibility and attract new leads.

Health and Safety Compliance

Ensure all operations comply with health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Regularly update safety policies and conduct site audits to uphold safety standards. Oversee staff training and certification to ensure compliance and promote best practices.

Team Leadership and Development

Lead and motivate the operational team, fostering engagement and high performance. Identify training needs and develop team capabilities to meet operational requirements. Set performance objectives and conduct regular feedback and reviews.

Financial and Performance Management

Monitor and manage operational budgets to ensure financial efficiency and profitability. Track KPIs and report insights, suggesting improvements to business owners. Contribute to strategic planning and long-term forecasting for business growth.

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of scaffolding operations and industry standards.
  • Client Relations: Strong interpersonal skills for building lasting client partnerships.
  • Operational Leadership: Expertise in managing complex operations and driving efficiency.
  • Commercial Acumen: Solid grasp of budgeting and financial management.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive approach with effective solution development skills.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Essential: Extensive experience in scaffolding, construction, or related fields with a strong network of industry contacts.
  • Desirable: Formal qualification in construction, project management, or business administration.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with project management and CRM software.
  • Health and Safety Certification: In-depth knowledge of relevant health and safety standards.

Performance Metrics:

On-time, within-budget project completions. High client satisfaction and retention. Revenue growth from new and existing clients. Achievement of operational KPIs, including safety and efficiency.
